I knew I wanted to work with people, likely in health or education but not in shift work, I wanted to potentially be outdoors or maybe indoors but not at a desk, someone suggested OT to me. I looked into it, completed placement and I was hooked. The success in seeing others achieve their goals and be present in some of the toughest times is a real privilege to be a part of.
Working in two different private practices gave me the skills and confidence to start my own practice. I had not had a great experiences with support in the private world so I wanted to create a space where we could provide a huge amount of support to the team while also providing high quality of care to our clients. The flexibility to choose my own hours when I started a family was a huge driving factor in wanting to run my own practice as well.
I feel different mentors are right for you at different stages of your carer. I had had two amazing mentors who had got my business to a point but felt I needed the next step to continue to grow D.O.T.S. and needed a company who aligned with my value of team being a big priority. I found Clinic Mastery online. We attended an admin mastery day and from there decided to join a community. D.O.T.S. would absolutely not be the practice it is without CM's ability to support sustainable growth through systems and processes.

We have strong connections with a range of other allied health services and through these connections whilst we remain an OT team we are able to service our clients through their multidisciplinary teams. We see children 0-16 years and work on a number of goals from feeding, toileting, handwriting and sensory processing through to eduction of teachers and families through webinars and live presentations around ergonomics of classrooms and behaviour and sensory processing. "Nothing can't be solved with good communication" this creates a foundation of trust both in being able to bring information to leadership but also knowing that if you have made an error, it will be brought to you as well and a solution will be found with support, there is no hiding of information.
