Why You Need Systems In Your Clinic

It is very valuable to have a team that can carry on the business operations in your clinic without it having to rely on the business owner.

By definition, a system gives us a structure of methods on carrying out tasks through different and distinct but connected procedures.

In your clinic, you don’t just randomly do tasks, you have to systemize your business processes.

Why do you need systems in your clinic?

7 reasons why you need good systems in place

(1/7) A  Good System  Beats  a  Great Person

If you have every detail outlined about how to carry through and execute a specific task, a good system will beat a great person.

That is because you can make sure that everything gets done consistently every single time. And it’s not reliant on one great person who can and will have a bad day.

(2/7) Systems Can  be  Outworked

Regardless who is available, he or she can outwork the system. As long as you can give the detail and the system that you know it’s pretty much foolproof.  Provided that he or she can follow the steps and prompts, that person can work the system and get the tasks done.

(3/7) Systems stay the same

If the team changes, and sure it will, those changes would hurt at those times. Someone might leave, or someone might get sick or be away on holidays.

But these changes won’t affect the operation that much since the systems stay the same.

Nothing would really change. Provided you’ve got the right triggers in place, like Asana, people can come up.
They can follow through on the process just by following the steps and get things done.

(4/7) Allowing you to work “on” your business

Systems allow you to work on your business, not just to work in it and be buried in your own business.

As a clinic owner, whether you’re in startup or you’ve been in the game for a long time, you know that you wear many hats. And if we’re looking to automate, delegate or eliminate, systems are the foundations to be able to do that.

The key is to document what you are doing in the moment rather than trying to make time to create a system. Just document while you’re doing it.

You can then easily automate or delegate that task after systemizing it. It means, you can quickly outsource.

And essentially, even though you  might be working on a small system, it means that you can hand it over with the right accountability.

Therefore, you freed yourself up into the future and you can continue to work on your business.

(5/7) Increasing the level of service delivery

Since we have the system, you know what we need to do, how to do it, and when to do it. It will lessen the delays because you don’t have to figure out how to do the tasks first.

You minimize the unnecessary things we do during the tasks. It means that you can get it done faster and move on quickly to the next tasks.

(6/7) Formation of New Habits

Systems help you develop new habits easier. When you constantly do things that are structured, you are forming new habits of following through with a level of detail.

Being able to follow a very detailed system develops on you a habit that will allow you to grow in a way that you want to.

(7/7) Systems Free Us to Think About the Next Opportunity

If you won’t systemize your operations, there will be too much on your radar. There will be too many things to do and people asking for your help, requiring your attention and focus.

That is because they do not know how to exactly do a certain thing. That demand will suppress your ability and snatch your time time think about the next opportunity, next stage, or next phase of your business.

Challenge:

This is our challenge for you. Document one process that you do today that you would love to hand off, that would free you up. Turn on screen record, turn on your phone, the audio record, or the video record button.

Create a basic framework for a system that you could then outsource to one of your team, or a virtual team. And by doing so, you can do more thing to work on your business.
